Tawakaheimoa

No one 'calls on' tangatawhenua onto their own lands during any occassion... te ihi, te wehi, te mana o aku tupuna, mana of the occassion will push them forward by wairua alone. You can call back from the threshold to others next to them however, you cannot outrank tangatawhenua  walking onto the Pa itself nor prevent them from freely stepping across the threshold of any marae who holds their tupapaku. This is the way forward for Awahou as it was the way of the past.

This is the first lore of the Awahou Marae, "Look up and see who guards me". He is why we do not change the kawa and kaupapa of the Pa. He is Tama Te Kapua's all seeing eye for Mokoia when family return home on their final journey. People forget their own iwi and hapu but te whakairoa do not EVER forget, that is their purpose, to hold the 'big' knowledge for the future.

Pania's Dream
Fan of A Good Book

Te Paipera Tapu. The holy spirit of the good book entwined with great koroua karakia sealed te wharenui when Tarimano was moved across from the old lands of the old church. Te Koroua of our universe changed the way forward. In doing so, sealing the doors and gateways back to an old time of Hine nui te Po, we wish not to remember further. Forever waiting in the shadows, that past that forgets the future embedded in forgiveness with blood marriage, rather than further sacrifical customs of our tamariki, were banned forever more.

Te Paepae, the old one with Papa Ngahara with two legs... the story talks along with te paepae about how the family was going to pay the bills te pakeha kept inventing, into the future. The answer was the return of their own flourishing mauri. In order to do this involved bringing the tourists as far as Taniwha Springs and build special paths so their feet never touched the whenua, only their pocketbooks of mauri.

Te Paepae [the old one]
Our beginnings in the Ocean

The whakatauki begins with the beginning.

Men's business is the way of the wharenui but women guard the secrets of their whakapapa weave throughout the house dressing between the crevasses of every carving and can change the directions for the path forward for the tribe through their seer lineage.
